Oceanic Dive Center based in Kata
Oceanic Dive Center was founded in 1999 by a group of Thai and Swedish divers. We are still in the same location now, and owned by Thai and British divers since 2010, but we keep our close links to Scandinavia: we have Swedish and Danish instructors, and we are still in constant contact with the previous owners. With our combined experience in the Phuket dive industry of more than 30 years, and family-owned, we treat our divers more like club members than customers. Some of our divers have been diving with Oceanic since the beginning, in '99. Many have become parents since taking their first course with Oceanic, and now we're teaching their children to dive. We're looking forward to teaching the third generation of some families in the years to come!
With the owners being experienced Instructors, in active teaching status, we're regularly out diving alongside our staff. That keeps us in touch with the dive community, and, as we're regularly diving the same dive sites that you are going to visit, we can give reliable, honest and objective information to all of our divers. We personally inspect the dive boats that we use, and and monitor them constantly, to ensure we're taking you on the fastest boats, serving great food between dives, and with the friendliest and most professional crews, to make sure your time on the Andaman sea is perfect in every way. This way we strive to give you the best possible choice of dive sites, and dive boats, whether you're fun diving or taking a course, beach diving, out on a day trip, or on a liveaboard adventure.
Authorised Dive Gear Retailers
We are an authorised dealer for Scuba Pro, Aqualung, Mares, Seac, Ocean Dynamics, Cressi and Head. This means that we can offer independent advice on equipment sales, and it reflects well in our rental equipment: from our rental sets we can offer you Scuba Pro, Aqualung and Mares BCDs, regulators, masks and fins, giving you a wide choice to fit pretty much anybody, large, small and in between.
Environmentally Aware Diving
We're passionate about diving and so, naturally, we take the environment and conservation seriously: we discuss environmental awareness issues on all dive briefings; we have a no touch rule on all of our dives; we carry out regular clean-up dives; we are involved in local and global environmental groups.

As active members of the local Thai and expat community here in Phuket, we can also offer advice on all aspects of your trip: from recommending the best restaurants to giving insider advice on Thai culture, so that you get the very best out of your time in Phuket. And when the diving is done, you're welcome to drop by in the evening, to socialise with your instructors and fellow divers.
