What's involved in the SSI Stress & Rescue course?
The SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course is open to anyone 15 years or over, who holds Open Water Diver certification.
We will cover the following topics:
- What is stress?
- Causes and Prevention of Stress in Diving
- Detecting and Dealing with Stress
- Accident Management
- Rescue Skills
With academic sessions, including online study, skills introduced in the pool and then put into practice over three Open Water dives, you will be put into realistic simulations to help you learn to recognise and respond to stress in yourself and other divers. These skills will help you to prevent accidents in the future, and you will also learn how to deal properly with emergency situations.
